I love this and I think it's so cool she loves aerospace!
I can relate to wanting to find others who care about learning rather than parties and all that. I also love observing people, too, quietly. And the whole bit about preferring to read than listening to an audiobook. (with one exception!)
My friend read Wuthering heights a long while ago and it's on my to read list, since I love more Gothic like older books. (though yes, I do agree the descriptions are often excessive!) I'm curious to see what she thinks about the romance in Wuthering Heights? My friend says that it was actually written as a toxic one and Heathcliff wasn't a great person but many people romanticize it. I wonder what Uma says about it.
I like to stay "No one likes social media; everyone uses social media" because the overall effect that social media has had on the world is more negative than it is positive. It has made it easier for people to bully others because they can hide behind a screen while they do it. It has increased rates of depression and eating disorders because people are constantly comparing themselves to other people. There is the positive side of people able to stay connected to people that you no longer see in your everyday life (like if you or a friend or family member moves far away). I wish that everyone universally could decide that social media is going to be a place where you show your true self to your closest friends and family rather than a place where you show your perfect self to people you barely know if at all. If we could his reset on the effect of social media, having learned what he have about how it is used, how do you think we would change the way social media is used (assuming people universally want to make the world better)?
Also, I love how mature this girl is in her way of looking at these types of things in life. I wish more teenagers were like her.
Choosing friends who care about learning...this girl has her head on straight.
Love this!
Such a lovely girl! Thank you for sharing her with us!

Good questions... I will ask her. She isn't one for swooning, overindulgent romance usually...

Really great questions. We've gotten so used to it and yet perhaps we never really learned how to use the tools for good.
